With a short blonde mop and lovely brown eyes, Sam is like a walking dream. He has fairly nice eyebrows and a perfect nose. His ears are a little too large for his face, but not in a way that it stands out too awkwardly. He has a winning smile and the classic "emo sweep" hairstyle. His mouth is remarkably large, it's one of the things that most people notice first. And, despite how much many of the girls want to, those big lips have not yet been kissed. Not yet at least.

Sam is average height (5'10 to be exact) and very slim. He is well built and very toned, considering his rigorous schedule as the new star quarterback. He has strong shoulders and very manly, slightly clumsy, hands (complete with calluses from playing guitar). He weighs 165 pounds and, despite his awkwardness off the field, seems to have an agileness on-the field thanks to his well-toned legs.

Sam is a very plain dresser. He settles for bold color tees and well-fit jeans. He doesn't seem to make any bold fashion statements or to really go wild artistically with his clothing choices. On occasion, he likes to wear v-necks, but he doesn't really allow himself to let go yet. He is still worried about the way he dresses. He worries that, if he allows himself to be more adventurous, people will know about his sexual preferences.

Sam is very friendly. He can often come off as shy and quiet, but he's not opposed to sitting with the kid in the corner. He may not always go out of his way to meet new people, but when he does, he tries to be as kind and welcoming as possible. Considering the judgement he has seen in his past and in the world around him, Sam tries his best to be non-judgemental and accept people as they are. He strives to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.

Often times, Sam can be quiet. He's not very outspoken or confident. But, he's one of those people that you have to keep watch for. He's very skilled and talented and he sneaks up on people. In situations of pressure to preform, Sam shines. No one ever sees it coming. He's one of those people that is just generally good at everything, but doesn't always pursue it unless he's passionate about it or forced. However, he is a horrible people pleaser. He wants to please everyone, so often times he has a hard time standing up for himself or saying no to people.

Sam has a kind heart. He's been through a rough childhood and has seen plenty of judgement. Because of that, he always does his best to accept others and make them feel welcome. He has a tough, confident side that he hasn't yet let out but it is scratching to the surface. At this point in time, he is struggling between keeping silent and letting himself be free. Seeing as though he is now the star quarterback, he is struggling with the idea- afraid that he will be judged and shunned because of who he really is.

Sam grew up with two very controlling but distant parents. His eldest sister became his mother, always trying to fix his problems and always worrying about his grades. His parents always seemed to be full of expectations, none of which he could actually live up to. His father and him never could connect and his mother was always shrugging him off and turning him away. He learned to play the guitar at age six, much to his father's distress. This caused a heavy riff between the two, considering, around this time, his father forced him to begin playing football. Naturally, he was good at it but he never had a passion for it.

He grew up very lonely. His only friend? His trusty guitar, Chuck. He continued to get better at football, not that his father really seemed to care. Meanwhile, when he was twelve, his eldest sister moved out considering that his parent's marriage was finally beginning to deteriorate. And family life, of course, only got worse. His family all knew that he was gay, but no one talked about it. It only added to the tension. He began to make friends in high school, slowly but surely. And, just as he was beginning to start to shine in the football and starting to consider trying out for the theatre team, his parents told him that it was time to move. Because of his father's job, Sam was forced to move to Lima, Ohio; a far cry from LA. And now, moving to McKinley, Sam is trying his hardest to reach out and be friendly. But, the struggle is becoming it's hardest. Soon, the tension, will become too much for him. And what with a certain Glee clubber catching his eye, Sam might have to make a choice sooner than he thinks.

• if you were stuck on an island, what are three things you'd have with you and why?

"Hm. Well. My guitar, Chuck, for sure. haha. I couldn't live without him. As for the other two...I'm gonna go with maybe a recording studio and a helicopter. Just in case I want to get off the island. haha."

• what are your feelings on other characters on this site?

"Well, since I'm new at McKinley, I don't know many people. I'm hoping that I can find some really good, true friends. I'm hoping that I'll make them faster than I did before. But, who knows? I'm already on the football team, so that's gotta count for something, right? And Glee club too? That should hopefully help me get out there and at least meet a few people.

But, mostly...I'm hoping that I can find friends who will accept me for who I truly am. I guess I'm looking for a family. My own family is...less than loving. With Glee club, I'm beginning to see a world where I can be free. I know that McKinley high isn't perfect, but I feel like it could be home for me. And I'm excited, and nervous, to see how it turns. "

"Well, I love to play and learn music, of course. I like to challenge myself to learn new music. But after a hard day, I like to just sit down and free style it. Beside that, I'm like any one else I guess. I like to ride around town, grab a bite to eat with friends or head to the park. I love to watch movies or television. And my guilty pleasure? Singing in the shower."
